a woman stands with her back to the camera. She is looking out over a beautiful lake. She is alone.

Do you know who you are?

Don’t let the pundits convince you that Harris didn’t run a great campaign. Don’t let them convince you that this is somehow the Democrats’ fault, because we’re “arrogant” or “out of touch.” Let’s give full credit for the election results where credit is due: the ugly racism, misogyny and extreme nationalism that has taken hold of the majority of people of the USA – and, indeed, people all over the world. It’s a philosophy that has been eagerly, freely embraced across populations – misinformation just fueled what was the core of MOST voter’s hearts in this country. Garbage, indeed, though so much more widespread than I ever dreamed – it is a majority of this nation, as we see by the popular vote. This is what most voters want – there can be no denying it. It will never be what I want. The only thing I know now, at MY core, is who I am, and it is not this, nor will it ever be this. Let the pundits call me arrogant, a snob, out of touch: I am better than this.

If you voted for him, you voted for what he said on a bus in a video released in October 2016. You voted for the things he and his supporters said in Madison Square Garden. You voted for political opponents being executed, which he has stated repeatedly he wants. You voted for assaults on police officers and elected officials on January 6th. You voted for a man the court have said, officially, is a rapist. You voted for a man who repeatedly benefitted financially, as did his family, during his Presidency, something that is supposed to be illegal. You voted for a man who calls all black women “nasty.” You know exactly who you voted for. I do too. And now I know exactly who you are, at your core. Own it.
