{"id":187,"date":"2019-03-07T17:22:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-07T17:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coyotebroad.com\/blawg\/2019\/03\/07\/life-still-not-simple\/"},"modified":"2019-03-07T17:22:00","modified_gmt":"2019-03-07T17:22:00","slug":"life-still-not-simple","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coyotebroad.com\/blawg\/2019\/03\/07\/life-still-not-simple\/","title":{"rendered":"life: still not simple"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Someone said on Facebook that, to be happy, all I had to do was honestly answer three questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Am I happy?<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>What makes me happy?<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>What do I have to do to make myself happy?<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Okay, let&#8217;s do it:<\/p>\n<p><i>Am I happy?<\/i><br \/>\nNo<\/p>\n<p><i>What makes me happy?<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Riding my motorcycle (too cold and wet to do that now)<\/li>\n<li>Camping somewhere new and beautiful and quiet (too cold and wet to do that now &#8211; and lately, no campsite is ever quiet)<\/li>\n<li>Sitting in a honky tonk or a small outdoor party listening to GREAT music (nothing like that anywhere near where I am &#8211; to be honest, I haven&#8217;t found anywhere in Oregon like this)<\/li>\n<li>Seeing amazing live theater (it&#8217;s happened a total of one time in 20+ years)<\/li>\n<li>Working in a paid job related to my areas of expertise (no further comment)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>What do I have to do to make myself happy?<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alter the climate<\/li>\n<li>Win the lottery so I can move to a place that has the things I love and so I can do the things I love<\/li>\n<li>Get hired in a paid job related to my areas of expertise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>IT&#8217;S SO SIMPLE I JUST NEED TO WORK &amp; DREAM HARDER<\/p>\n<p>Or something&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Facebook advice is stupid.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s another question, of my own, and with my answers:<br \/>\n<i><br \/><\/i> <i>How do you get through the day?<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Walking my dog<\/li>\n<li>Cooking a nice supper for my husband<\/li>\n<li>Watching old movies on TCM and nature shows and documentaries on PBS<\/li>\n<li>Reading books<\/li>\n<li>Updating my web site<\/li>\n<li>Volunteering<\/li>\n<li>Listening to music<\/li>\n<li>Dreaming of designing and running the perfect campsite<\/li>\n<li>Looking forward to better weather for riding my motorcycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s what I got. It&#8217;s where I&#8217;m at.
