Reporting by Volunteers

Note: Coyote Helps does not yet exist as a nonprofit. All of the information on this web site is PROPOSED.
Please see the home page for more information about this idea for a nonprofit.

Coyote Helps volunteers track their own activities and volunteering time. They should report these activities by the end of the day on the second Monday of each month, as directed by Coyote Helps leadership.

Reporting your activities each month to Coyote Helps leadership is part of your commitment as a volunteer.

The time you spend creating such reports can be counted as a part of your volunteering time.

Here is how a report could look, sent via email:

Ann Smith.
Volunteer period: August 10 - September 13, 2026

Volunteer activities:

Under the Reddit account of xxxxx, posted three times to r/philanthropy, per research I did to find content. 2 hours.
Also replied with helpful content on r/philanthropy and r/volunteerism, and replied to two mod messages with guidance. 1 hour.
Posted much of this same content to my BlueSky account, xxxxx. 1 hour

Lessons learned, observations, etc: The post about philanthropic activities by Bad Bunny resulted in a lot of positive comments, but some had to be deleted as I saw them as trolling or just "me too" karma efforts.
(volunteers automatically get one hour of volunteering time for this activity)

Total hours for this reporting period: 5 hours.

You will receive more complete, detailed information on how to report when you have been formally accepted as an online volunteer.

Coyote Helps leadership will keep track of your hours and will be able to report to any third party the amount of volunteering you did in a month or more. We are happy to provide a letter to any third party - a probation officer, another officer of a court, a representative of your high school, etc. - with this information. There is no charge to provide this information, but please give us at least five working days notice of our need for such documentation. HOWEVER, please get permission from the person requiring you to do community service BEFORE you start volunteering with Coyote Helps!

Please note that Coyote helps cannot guarantee that your volunteering with our nonprofit will be accepted as a part of court-ordered or school-ordered community service.
