- Being able to volunteer anytime, from my home.
- online research
developing web sites
reviewing articles and books
- Research
- database application
- schedule flexibility, getting to use my computer skills (I'm a
programmer) for something beyond my paid job
- Helping children online has always interrested me. Also, I enjoy
building websites, and believe I have a firm grasp on HTML. Another area I
could assist in would be researching information.
- I am not really positive what this Project does but I read the
newsletter about helping those with disabilities and I found that rather
interesting. I've always had a fascination with those who are not as
fortunate as me, physically, mentally, or pyschologically.
- working with computers.
- To do the volunteer work on non-working hours and to get involved in
the volunteer electronic community
- Anything
- That it involves computers and that it can be done from home
- working by myself, helping my self-motivation, upgrading my knowledge
of the internet/computer technology.
- I can work from home.
- I am very experienced in HTML 4 and javascript programming. I was
excited to learn that I could use these skills to volunteer for this
project.
- Working with non-profit agencies
- Helping non-profit organizations, learning more about developing web
sites and online research.
- I'm a stay-at-home mom and want to balance family time with other
committments. Doing volunteer work on my computer during my son's naptimes
and at night is the perfect solution.
- The flexibility and the opportunity to use my technical skills and
maybe even build on them with kind and unselfish people.
- learing new things, helping people
- Designing Web sites, web surfing & fundraising.
- Mostly, being able to help children in need by doing "on-line"
work/research. As I am on the computer daily, why not do something that
will help someone who really needs it. It will be my way of being able to
have children in my life, so to speak.
- That it is web-based.
- I think the idea of volunteering online is great. It can get so many
more people involved than would otherwise be able to.
- I was interested because this concept of volunteering by computer is
totally new to me, and I wanted to try it.
- When I am home (rare these days) I'm usually online, so I might as
well spend the time doing something worthwhile, right ;o)
- I like being online, and I like the fact that you're trying to make
volunteering easier for people with time constraints like mine. That way
more people will volunteer (hopefully), and I think that's a very good
goal.
- Working alone and at home or at work
- The element of flexible time is very desirable for me as I can work at
hours convinient to me.
- Being able to help and manage your time efficiently is very crucial
and I think volunteering virtually would help me achieve those goals.
- The variety of assignments, especially math-related computer
projects.
Flexibility, communication through the Internet, possibility
to work from home (which I prefer, as a mother/wife/homemaker).
Professional help in matching my skills with employer's requirements.
- DID NOT ANSWER
- I am interested in its use of technology to assist people and
organizations. I am also interested in how this project allows disabled
persons to volunteer their time since my mother is the Coordinator for
Disabled Student Services at Hillsborough Community College.
- I like the idea of being able to utilize skills that I have in my
volunteer efforts. In the past, I've painted buildings and done other
various things in which I have little or no experience. I have experience
developing web sites, enjoy doing it, and would like to volunteer my time to
develop pages for those who need them.
- Web Design
- The fact that I can volunteer some time for a good cause from home.
- Virtual Involvement via my computer at this point.
- The fact that I can volunteer using my computer and through the
internet instead of going to places.
- the fact that i can reach out to people from my home interests me very
much and that I love helping others that need me.
- I like how it is a virtual project and you don't have to travel to
another place to volunteer. I don't drive/don't have someone to drive me
often, so this is an ideal volunteering opportunity
