- I hope this experience will show me what it is like to volunteer
on-line. I would hope that the benefits to others would be increased
understanding of computer programs.
- I intend to build up my expertise in these areas through volunteering
with this Project. This expertise would also help me in future if I decide
to embark on a new career. It also creates a portfolio of work which I can
show to propective employers or clients.
- My benefits:
Knowing I have contributed to imroving the world around us.
Non-profit experience Benefits to the Project and its Clients
A person with a proven ability to research (Master's Thesis).
Someone dedicated to making a difference.
A better world.
- opportunity to enhance and develop database design, implementation and
administration skills
understanding of the unique database management
needs of not-for-profit and public sector agencies
- I hope I'll learn something and refine my technical and interpersonal
skills. I hope I'll wind up with some good feelings about having made a
contribution to a worthy effort. I hope the Project will benefit by
achieving one or more goals through the quality of my work.
- I hope to gain some community service time, since I will be a senior
in high school next year. I just enjoy helping others in general, and I
would love to encorporate that with my love for computers.
- I hope to be able to be given the satisfaction of helping others. I
hope that whatever information or articles that I may come up with or
whatever else I may do will help expand the Project to other willing
volunteers!
- If I can help people benefit from my work that will make me feel
good.
- The only benefit I expect is to be helpful. The project and its
audience can benefit from my Internet / Computer knowledge, writing skills,
project management and customer support expertise, and the willingness to do
a good job.
- I want to help agencies in need. I hope to gain satisfaction that I
helped.
- I hope to get personal satisfaction in working with people - and I
hope that I can change ;ives for the better.
- learning new things, meeting new people, hopefully working with people
and teaching people new things as i learn...interaction is great!
- Self satisfaction for myself.
Utilization of my skills if possible
and time to the most.
- I would like to be able to say that I have volunteered my spare time
with a community project. I hope that through my work I will be able to
catch the attention of a substantial number of the many people that "surf
the web" every day, and to direct their attention towards the project.
- I hope to gain some valuable experience and a portfolio of work on the
web, and the agency will get web page design and programming experience for
free!
- I hope to enhance my present skills, learn new ones, and interact with
those who can provide opportunities for me to share these skills with
non-profit organizations in need of online volunteers.
- I want to help, perhaps make a difference in someone's life. I want
to fulfill my desire to give back to the community at large and make a
positive impact.
- I hope to learn more about "Virtual Volunteering" and how it may help
into the future. Additionally, I wouldn't mind learning a skill or
listening to advice from mentors.
- A feeling that I've helped someone else.
- I hope to better hone my skills in designing web sites and I hope that
in doing so, make people aware that there are many groups that could use
help, both financially & with volunteers. If I can play a part in spreading
the word about how much young people need help & guidance, not just when
they are ill, but through mentoring and other projects, then I'd like to do
my part to help.
I for one, never knew that there were so many ways to
help. I'm glad I saw the commercial and came to the Web site. It opened my
eyes and I'd like to help spread the word to as many others as is
possible.
- Doing something that will directly or indirectly help children will be
enough of an accomplishment for me. Children's well being is a very
important issue to me, so if I can volunteer my time and possibly my
expertise to this Project to help some child somewhere get something he/she
might not otherwise get or experience, that will be benefit enough. besides
it will make me feel like I am using some of my time very wisely.
- Everything that is anything is now getting a web page. For non-profit
organizations to get fulfill their mission they need to get their name out
on the web. I would like to help those charities whose missions I agree
with. I don't expect to get anything out of it.
- I would like the chance to help people, to gain experience, and
possibly to get something on my resume. I've had years of online experience
making various web pages (just not a homepage of my own but you can look at
http://macvs.fsn.net) and also doing
research. I'd like to use that experience for a good purpose.
- I would hope that my experience as a person with a disability could
help someone else in a similar situation, and similarly, my knowledeg of
computers would allow me to participate in this project.
- I want to make a difference. Through school activities, I've learned
that it is possible for one person to get the ball rolling, and I'd hope
that my work online would have an impact on something that I normally
wouldn't be able to influence.
- Hopefully I can increase my skills in writing, HTML, or design, and
maybe meet some people and be helpful. I like to organize things, I like to
make things that are useful. Hopefully I can use the talents that I have to
benefit your organization.
- Satisfation, I always feel much better about my self when I'm helping
someone.
I hope that the audiences can feel the same way about me.
- The major benefit I hope to gain is to utilize my professional skills
for community service. I also sincerely wish that these types of project
flourish and tap in to many resources/skils provided by technical
professionals.
- 1) The feeling of satisfaction by being able to help and contribute to
our community and country.
2) Hope that I can teach the people involved
some of what I am experienced in and contribute towards their learning and
achieving a certain goal.
- I hope to strengthen my skills through a specific assignment, to build
my resume, possibly to find new ideas for my further education/career.
As a potential volunteer in this Project, I can offer a broad knowledge
based on my educational background. I want to demonstrate my strong will to
complete all assignments on time, while using my creativity.

searching for virtual volunteer jobs. I hope to gain experience and
knowledge while helping this web site grow and prosper. I would like to
facilitate others experiences volunteering online.
- I hope to be able to help organizations provide information on their
website that people in the community need.
- I would like to have the background that this work would give me.
Adding it to my resume would be very important to me. I would like to gain
the extra knowledge that creating another web page/site would give me.
- More people will find out about virtual volunteering. More
organizations will be exposed to the public and volunteer oppurtunities are
made known to the public.
- To find my niche. I love working with people to better themselves and
want to pinpoint which area really gives me the fulfillment I want.
- What I wish to accomplish through this voluteering project is that
I'll be more experienced with the computer, help others, and to get some
service hours. I just hope that I can help the Project and its audience as
well.
- I feel that in life you get out of life just what you give. Who know
there my be sometime in my life that I need someones help and this way I
know that by giving I will be recieving as well.
- I would like to gain experiences volunteering with the Project. It
feels good to help others and in a way, "give back" to others. Many
volunteers have helped me in various ways all my life and I would like to do
the same for others.
