Science has been rejected.
Love has been rejected.
Education has been rejected.
Logic has been rejected.
Equality has been rejected.
Civility has been rejected.
Freedom of speech has been rejected.
Freedom of (& from) religion has been rejected.
Kindness has been rejected.
Self-reflection has been rejected.
Rule of Law has been rejected.
Respect has been rejected.
Dignity has been rejected.
Honor has been rejected.
The qualities that have made the USA great have been rejected.
No idea where this leaves hope.
John Pavlovitz says it best in his blog from last month: America Chose the Monster:
…there comes a time when we run out of excuses, when we can no longer plead ignorance or impulsiveness or having been duped, when we have to own our poor decisions and declare our error… America was given a choice between a lawless, amoral monster and a qualified, intelligent, joyful woman of color—and it chose the monster.
