Went to get a Christmas tree this weekend, from a place we’ve gone to almost every year since we moved here. It’s our annual tradition and the weather was perfect for once. As we were leaving after paying, the guy said, “Oh, hey, you’re German?” And Stefan said yes. And he said, “Yeah, I been hearing about all that that’s going on over there.” And we both just stared at him, in silence. And he finally said, “You know, with all the immigrants coming in.” And I said, “Yes, as it has always been.” And we walked out. And that’s how my beautiful sunny day of getting a Christmas tree was ruined.
